Accreditation

Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC)

The purpose of accreditation is to ensure that the accredited engineering programme satisfies the minimum academic requirements for registration as a graduate engineer with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM).
In accordance with the purpose, the BEM evaluates programme or programmes leading to the award of engineering degrees and accredits those programmes, which are adjudged as adequately preparing their graduates for registration as graduate engineers and entry into the profession.

BEM reserves the right to review the list at any time without notice and intending candidates are advised to check with BEM before proceeding for further studies.

  1. List of Accredited Engineering Programmes
  2. Recognition of Overseas Engineering Degrees

BEM uses as a guide the list of Professional/Chartered Engineers by the accreditation organisations of the country where the degree is issued.   Candidates are advised to check with the relevant Engineering Accreditation bodies' website for the list of recognised degrees of professional chartered level.  However, BEM reserves the right to review the list at any time without notice.

The recognition of engineering degree from overseas (full-time/twinning) will be based on the accreditation given by professional bodies who are signatories of the Washington Accord:
